Nostalgia: Duke Nukem
This one comes simultaneously with the news that Duke Nukem: Forever, is actually going to be coming out after all. slated for 2011. No shit right? Source
Big news. Huge news in fact. The problem is a lot of people are going to be disappointed when this game comes out and it doesn't change lives. Nostalgia coupled with hype is a bad thing. Unlike Mario games which have been shat out by Nintendo every day, peoples nostalgia boils at a steady mediocre. the Duke soup on the other hand has been left to stew over a million volcanoes. Every game has changed remarkably. Starting with the beloved 2D ones, which my brother still does speed runs on, to 3D with titties, to 2.5D in Manhattan project (Which isn't to great really.)
Even if the new game bombs, I don't care. Duke will always be cool. His shit don't stink.

Prince Of Persia: nostalgia
This is pretty much my entire gameplay experience of Prince of Persia. I saw it at the movies and was all "Oh this isn't the real prince of Persia. These new 3D games aren't SHIT compared to the old one." so I came running across the field of roses towards a game that frolicked in my youth, and right when we came close it punched me in the face and ran away. And that my friend, is how nostalgia really works. Just because it's from "back in the day" doesnt make it a good game (Or easier, It's going to be most definatly harder.)
