Everything Tetris

Well, I have been holding off talking about this particular game for quite a while now, but it's been around a good 26 years so I figured its not going anywhere any time soon. I think I have to start at the begining when it comes to tetris, so you can understand why I have a fetish for it now.

My earliest memories of tetris is my brother getting one of those hand helds that played nothing but tetris, with "ten fun modes" or something like that. He drew on it with vivid to make it look bad ass. He never let me play it. I always wanted to though. I wanted to beat his score and show him how much I kicked butt. (For some reason he took it to the beach once, and I just remember it really clearly. It was a good day, a little breezy at times.)

But I never was. Later on my friend introduced me to it again. same hand held system everything. I remember arguing with him that rows dissappeared because you harddropped (When you make the blocks go down quickly.) I don't really see that guy any more, he kinda grew up to be a crazy thug thing.

Then skip forward quite a number of years, and there it is. That tetris again! My friend (Not crazy thug) is telling me how he's been playing the same game for some crazy amount of hours. And you know, that feeling of wanting to own came back again. So I got into it as well. Currently I have tetris on my DS, And I play regularly on Tetrisfriends.com . I had it on my phone at some stage as well, but it just never was as good.

Now for the review!

Tetris DS: Good well balanced game. It was an early release when the DS first came out. So a lot of the alternate game modes are showing off the touch screen. It has a nintendo theme and features the mario music.
Online play is great, super competitive, and its still quick to find opponents. Although they all have insane scores and all have japanese names.

Tetrisfriends.com: Also quite good. There are enough modes to find one that you enjoy. Don't play with a wireless keyboard, you start to notice that lag quite quickly. Most modes pit you against replays of other people. You can track how you good you are. There are twenty ranks in all, and you go up or down depending on how good you are. I'm sitting at 15 and can't seem to get much higher than that.
Multiplayer beta is out now and you can go up against 4 other people at a time, using items and maps if you're keen. I generally stick away from them. It also features chat, so if you've lost you can talk to the other loosers about how you lost.. against ME. Kiddin.

Tetris Party Deluxe: You know what!? I got all excited when I saw this being advertised! I got it! Immediately! And guess what... HOW CAN YOU FUCK UP TETRIS YOU HORE. Well it could be worse. But it looks fucken ugly. I could understand if it were made for the gameboy colour or advance, but come out. it's the tackiest thing I have seen since.. Shit. I dunno.. This website?
It looks horrendous, seriously, I can't change what the minos (the block thingy) looks like, fortunatly I can change the background to something other than a gif version of what appears to be the walt disney castle complete with fireworks.
Unfortunatly its not touch screen, which would be handy for getting around sometimes. Sometimes I bump my finger on the big inviting buttons, only to realize I have to scroll down like a gimp instead.
I'll be sticking to good ol Tetris DS for now, thanks for nothing.

On another note, check this out, it applies to everything I just said and pretty much everything I have ever done on the internet.
